Tough one but good #1

Great session with Robbo & the gals this morning. 1.5Km warm up followed by technique drills then sprints, warm down run then stretch. Feeling tired but invigorated at the same time (is this possible...?). Weather was about 19 degrees but will peak at 41 today & tomorrow - yuk factor 90. Saturday is 8km, tomorrow deep water running.

Doing well

Did a 1.4Km swim today. A bit slow so might investigate stroke correction classes at MSAC. It was a bit hard getting out of bed this morning, but all went well. Early to bed to night as Jane & I went to friends for dinner and was a late one.

Robbo's plan fortunately mirrors to a great extent what I have been already doing for the past few years; swimming 3 - 4 times / week, his sessions on Thursday, deep water running on Friday and jog on Saturday - he does want me to go for a bike ride on Sunday but only for about an hour or less - nothing too much.
His plan for me is to build a strong base with an ultimate long run of about 35 Km a few months out from the actual run in September 2008. Jane bought me a cool running backack for XMAS which can hold a water bladder as well - this will be a purchase into the future.

And he's off....

Monday 7th January was day 1 of marathon training for Sydney 2008 - yes I know, 37 weeks away but I want to finish it in one piece.

Mark 'Robbo' Robinson has put together a program which has me doing some thing pretty much every day - yesterday I did 1.5Km swim, today 5Km run and 400 mtr cool down swim - soooooo nice.

I'll try and do an ad-hoc update of this - it is my first ever blog so will be interesting to review it over time.

I hope it will make for interesting reading (don't hold your breath)
